WACKER® 1038 is a reaction product of silicone resin with silicone fluids that forms water-repellent release films with much better affinity than is attainable with polydimethylsiloxanes and many organomodified silicone fluids of comparable viscosity. It can be used as a component in polish and release agent formulations; in polishes, WACKER® 1038 is employed in paint conditioners and paint polishes to improve detergent resistance, depth of image, and gloss without affecting ease of rub out. WACKER® 1038 combines the positive properties of silicone fluids and silicone resins, and release agents formulated with it, such as those used for processing microcellular PUR foams, exhibit high release efficiency along with satisfactory overpainting and bonding features.
