FORMULATORY EXPERTISE

A low-water, high-wax formulation with high solid particle content, designed to feel smooth on the lips. Achieving an even distribution of ZnO UV filters and pigment particles is key to ensure both protection and a uniform tint. The structure avoids drying effects and provides softness and protection with a velvety finish. Technical focus lies in balancing wax phase and pigment dispersion to maintain stability and sensory appeal in a compact format.

A physical sunscreen dispersion with 65% ultrafine zinc oxide in Coco-Caprylate/Caprate. It offers broad-band UVA/UVB protection and it is non-nano by dynamic light scattering (dls) analysis.

INCI: Polyglyceryl-6 Polyricinoleate, Polyglyceryl-10 Dioleate

A multi-porous powder with a mean particle size of 5 µm and high specific surface area of 700 m2/g. It has pore volume of 2 ml/g and pore diameter of 11 nm allowing for oil absorption of 400 ml/100g, one of the highest in its category. It can effectively absorb oils and other liquids while maintaining a smooth, non-greasy feel on the skin.

Regional Technical Manager IMCD Beauty & Personal Care Germany 

Dr Nora Schiemann serves as Regional Technical Manager at IMCD Germany, responsible for all technical questions related to Personal Care and Cosmetics in the Region DACH. 

After obtaining her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, she began her career in 1993. She has held several roles in R&D, Technical Management and Supply Chain Management at Wella, P&G, Akzo Nobel and as a Product Manager at the TER Group. 

In 2021, she and the IMCD team were awarded the 2nd Prize at the SEPAWA Innovation Awards.
