IMCD Germany received EcoVadis Platinum Award

IMCD Germany achieved Platinum, for its sustainability initiatives, the highest award from the renowned rating agency EcoVadis.

IMCD Germany achieved Platinum for its sustainability initiatives the highest award from the renowned rating agency EcoVadis. This recognition places the operating company of IMCD Group, a global leader in the formulation, sales, and distribution of speciality chemicals and ingredients, among the top one percent of more than 75,000 companies evaluated worldwide.

"We take our corporate responsibility to our environment and society very seriously. That's why we are very proud of the top rating from EcoVadis, as it confirms our management for sustainability and at the same time motivates us to continuously improve our sustainability activities," says Katharina Fischer, Quality & Sustainability Manager at IMCD Germany.

As an independent platform, EcoVadis evaluates sustainability performance of global supply chains. Around 75,000 companies from over 200 industries in more than 160 countries use the EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment for an objective evaluation of their environmental and social measures. The comprehensive audit includes 21 different indicators that are assessed in four main categories: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Topics such as health and safety also play a significant role in the assessment.

In the "Platinum" assessment class, IMCD Germany achieved 75 out of 100 points and improved its overall ranking by three points compared to the previous year. The international inspection body EcoVadis particularly highlighted the fact that IMCD Germany has an advanced sustainability management system that covers all four inspection areas. IMCD Germany has been participating in the program since 2011 and has steadily improved since then - from an initial silver certification to gold status, to today's platinum award.

The annual IMCD Germany certification by EcoVadis is carried out as part of the "Together for Sustainability" initiative, an association of leading chemical companies. The overall goal of the TfS initiative is to establish a global standard for sustainable and transparent supply chains through uniform audits.

"This award reassures our suppliers, customers, and business partners that IMCD meets the highest sustainability and social standards in all areas of its business," said Lars Wallstein, Managing Director of IMCD Germany. "It is very important for us to show this transparency, above all to create sustainable trust."
