With the EcoVadis Platinum award, IMCD Germany is part of the top one percent among the more than 100,000 companies in 175 countries assessed worldwide.
"Although the rating requirements have increased, we were able to even improve on our Platinum rating results from the previous year - we are very proud about that," says Katharina Fischer, Quality & Sustainability Manager at IMCD Germany, delighted about the renewed top rating. "This is a great confirmation for the continuous development of our sustainability work, which is also reflected in the entire IMCD Group."
As an independent platform, EcoVadis evaluates sustainability performance of global supply chains. Around 100,000 companies from over 200 industries in more than 175 countries use the EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment for an objective evaluation of their environmental and social measures. The comprehensive audit includes 21 different indicators that are assessed in four main categories: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Topics such as health and safety also play a significant role in the assessment.
In the "Platinum" assessment class, IMCD Germany achieved 80 out of 100 points and improved its overall ranking by three points compared to the previous year. The international inspection body EcoVadis particularly highlighted the fact that IMCD Germany has an advanced sustainability management system that covers all four inspection areas. IMCD Germany has been participating in the program since 2011 and has steadily improved since then - from an initial silver certification to gold status, to today's platinum award.
"The renewed platinum rating confirms our sustainability strategy, which anchors our goals for sustainable economic, ecological and social action as a holistic framework," says Lars Wallstein, Managing Director of IMCD Germany.
