CARBOPOL 981 NF

CARBOPOL® 981 NF polymer is a thickener and rheology modifier with long flow commonly used in the pharmaceutical industry. It also has bioadhesive and mucoadhesive properties. As a carbomer, CARBOPOL® 981 NF polymer helps form clear gels and stable suspensions when neutralized and is compatible with a wide range of active ingredients and other excipients. Recommended for: semisolids, creams and gels. CARBOPOL® 981 NF is suitable for topical drug delivery, and ophthalmic drug delivery. Recommended concentrations in topicals: 0.5-3 wt%. It's a carbomer homopolymer type A, polymerized in a cosolvent mixture of ethyl acetate and cyclohexane.
